Welcome to Shula’s Drapes, a perfectly formed bespoke curtains & blinds company based in South Devon. We provide our clients with an end-to-end curtains & blinds service. It’s our role to realise your soft-furnishing vision. Our focus is on creating luxurious and elegant curtains and blinds and we work entirely within your budget. Our beautifully made curtains and blinds are produced by an outstanding team of expert curtain makers. My makers and fitters are all working together to deliver your curtains & blinds within the agreed deadline and on budget.

Our Curtains

We produce made-to-measure, bespoke, curtains & blinds from traditional interlined triple & double-pleated curtains to contemporary wave, eyelet and stacking pleated curtains. We create stylish cottage top curtains, along with simple pencil-pleated gathered drapes. We also produce pelmets, valances, swags & tails, tiebacks and cushions and customised, covered, shaped box cushions.

Our Blinds

Our Roman blinds and roller blinds are all handmade to your exact requirements and available with a range of different linings, including blackout, thermal and interlined. Each blind comes complete with fixtures and fittings.
If you wish to use your own fabric to create a roller blind, we will need to approve the fabric in advance, as not all fabric is suitable.
All our blinds comply with BS EN 13120 regulations.

Your Curtain Fabric

At Shula’s Drapes we ask customers to choose their own fabric from their favourite manufacturer or outlet store. We are always on hand to assist with fabric choices. For those clients who require extra support, we also offer a personal fabric shopping service.
We supply a vast selection of linings including flame-retardant.

Tracks and poles

Our stunning selection of poles give you a range of styles, colours and sizes, to ensure that you find the perfect pole for your scheme.
With a comprehensive range of made-to-measure tracks from brands including Silent Gliss, Swish, Integra Cameron Fuller Curtain Poles and Rolls, you can be sure to get the ideal product for your project.

My Unique Career Journey

My career journey has been an interesting one. After graduating from Rose Bruford (Greenwich University) with an Honors degree in Technical Theatre Art and Design. I started my professional life as a prop-maker for The Royal Shakespeare Company. As someone with a deep passion for fabric, I made the switch to wardrobe and costumes. Eventually, I spent five years working as a wardrobe mistress and tutu maker for the London Festival Ballet before starting a family and begining a new venture – founding my own curtain-making business, The Curtain Workshop.

After several successful years running The Curtain Workshop, I decided to take a break from curtain-making and went back to production work. I then spent a further 25 years in TV and film production, honing my skills and gaining valuable experience in the industry.

After retiring to Devon, I rediscovered my passion for curtain-making and decided to establish Shula's Drapes in 2018. The company has been a huge success, with my expertise and attention to detail shining through in each and every project I undertake.
